I often wondered how Grandad got his broken nose. I never asked him. It gave him character I thought. Your face tells a story and I certainly thought his did. As I dug deeper into his background I found out that there was certainly a tale and will include it in the film "George and the Dragon".

Here is a superb audio interview with respected Cornish Wrestling Historian Gerry Cawley. At 10:45 in the timeline he describes how Mustapha Hambdy Egyptian World Roman Greco Middleweight Champion butted poor Cornish Wrestler George Bazley on the nose and was told it wasn't allowed. In an article in (The Cornishman and Cornish Telegraph, Wednesday 17 1927) it describes how his nose was broken and that he bled profusely.

I always remember my Grandfather and his crooked nose. I don't think he told me how that happened. To some an ordinary working class man, to me a remarkable man.
